About this project
Better shop math for independent makers.
Laser Pricing Lab is an independent educational project about pricing, production cost and quoting for small laser engraving and cutting businesses.
Why this site exists
Most pricing advice for makers starts with a list of prices. Those lists rarely account for the material actually consumed, setup time, failed pieces, equipment replacement, labor or marketplace payouts. The result is a price that looks normal and still loses money.
This site takes the opposite approach. It makes the assumptions visible and supplies calculators that can be adjusted to the user's own shop, currency and sales channel.
Editorial standard
- Calculations are explained with formulas rather than unexplained output.
- Examples are labeled as examples, not presented as industry benchmarks.
- Marketplace and tax rules should be checked against current official sources.
- Affiliate relationships, when active, do not change calculator formulas or recommendations.
- Corrections can be submitted through the contact page.
What this site is not
The calculators are business planning estimates. They are not accounting, tax, insurance, legal or safety advice. Laser systems, materials and local requirements differ, so users remain responsible for verifying safe operation and the rules that apply to them.
